Big Island Hawaii Weddings: Must-Know Info
To be married in the state of Hawaii, you must first obtain a Marriage License here from a Governor’s Office agent. You need to be 18, single, and to appear in person with $60 and a photo ID. There are no residence, citizenship or blood test requirements. If you are divorced, you must know the month and year your divorce was final.
The License is valid only throughout the state of Hawaii and is good for 30 days from the date of issuance (including it).
Download a Marriage License Application from the State of Hawaii’s, Department of Health - Vital Records website. Fill most of it in advance - it will save you time. Arrange to be here on a week day to get your marriage license, as these offices are closed weekends.
